My name is Kate and I’m a mother of 4, two boys and two girls. I have been offering my classes since 2012 and really enjoy sharing my knowledge and experiences with others.
For over 15 years I have had the opportunity to work with children and families in a number of different capacities. However, even with all my years of experience I was still not prepared for all the choices available to me as an expectant and first time mother.
What I found the hardest to understand was how so many people felt that they should tell me what I should be doing and that they have a right to question mine and my husbands parenting choices. This is one of the reasons why I enjoy working with The Natal Family and offering their BabyNatal and MummyNatal classes. It gives me the opportunity to empower other parents to make the right choice for them and their family.
Before Nurturing Knowledge I gained a wide range of experience working with parents and children of different ages. I have worked as a babysitter and volunteered at my local pre-school. I spent a number of years working in operating theatres, assisting with caesarean sections and looking after children who came down for operations. I gained my BTEC National Diploma in Early Years, where I built on my experience, working at primary schools and nurseries. Since completing this I have worked at a local nursery with children ranging from 3 months to 5 years.
